Designing the future in order to go there

OUR MISSION:  The Sustainable Living Institute will provide research, education, and resources to serve the needs of those individuals and communities who strive for a living and lifestyle that is secure, healthy and peaceful.

We cannot afford catastrophic climate change - far worse than anything we have experienced.  We must concentrate our efforts geographically and locally.  This is the purpose and position of The Sustainable Living Institute.

HERE IS WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW:

Friday September 19th Jeff Hall, President of the Sustainable Living Institute (SLI) will walk from Mukilteo, Washington to Bellingham, Wa. to raise money for the SLI. The SLI is a local nonprofit tax- exempt organization that promotes, educates and demonstrates actions that will make the Greater Puget Sound Watershed both environmentally and economically sustainable. The SLI seeks pledges and donations from both individuals and companies; $1 from individuals per mile and $3 from companies per mile that Jeff Hall completes in his journey toward Bellingham. The Journey will be 85 miles total.

Please click here to Pledge.

Friday, November 14, 2008 - The Sustainable Living Institute will provide a workshop on The Natural Step Framework.

"We travel together, passengers on a little space ship, dependent upon its vulnerable reserves of air and soil committed for our safety to its security and peace, preserved from annihilation only by the care, the work, and, I will say, the love we give our fragile craft.
-- ADLAI STEVENSON
